The idea for "HelpOurTroopsCallHome" was inspired by a family who's son was shipping out on his second deployment to Afghanistan.

The mother was suggesting items the troops could use and one of the first items on the list was,
"Pre-Paid Phone Cards"

It made me think, with the Internet covering much of the world, "why not set-up a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Service on her son's Lap-Top so he and fellow service personel can call home for Free or the family can dial a LOCAL NUMBER to call him?"

My next thought was, "There must be other People, Churches and Business's that would like to help but don't know how or hadn't thought about it." Giving our troops a way to call family and friends for "Free" could be one of the ways to show our support.

You "can" sponser someone or you can talk to friends, relatives, churches and business's about becoming a sponser. You can send a "Pre-paid Calling Card" to our troops. You can help our troops call home.

By using a "Soft-Phone," "USB Mic/Headset" and a "VoIP Service Provider" on a Lap-Top or P.C., calls can be made from a computer to a Regular Phone Number and, a Regular Phone can call your Lap-Top.
